The Birds are Hiding Now

We only had two Chickadees show up today and the Nuthatches are completely absent. The Flicker and the Jays were here but I'm thinking we may have injured birds as there have been a couple of bird strikes. We may also have a hawk or owl about as the Jays were making a big noise early yesterday morning and the birds definitely stayed away much of the day.

The weather yesterday was so blue sky and lovely that we tried walking on a Suncadia road. However, my back is a real bother now, so I could not walk far. Even so, lovely to get out and about. I'm going to have to figure out the back thing though. Spring will arrive soon enough and we will be back walking on the Ponderosa forest.

We have also had more snow, all wet and slushy and very hard to drive up the driveway, even when it got plowed out for us. The snow has melted all the way to the gravel and the cars just slide on the slush.

So it goes, for another day or two on our mountainside.
